Our submission as well as all other thousands of submissions were reviewed by a team of music journalists, musicians, radio programmers, record label A&R and other industry professionals. This group identified the five finalists which we were one of them announced to you back in early November.

Since then with great fellow finalists, we have been reviewed by who's who of celebrity artists, such as Peter Gabriel, Wynonna, Ozzy Osbourne, McCoy Tyner, Suzanne Vega, Cyndi Lauper, Marc Ribot, David Grisman, Howard Tate, Bebel Gilberto, Bill Frisell and others. Also industry judging panelists including: ATO Records President Michael McDonald, Americian Association of Independent Music (A2IM) President Don Rose, Folk Alliance Executive Director Louis Meyers, Performing Songwriter Music Editor Abby White, U.S. Music Management Forum President Barry Bergman, Billboard West Coast Bureau Chief Melinda Newman, MerleFest Artistic Director Claire Armbruster and Justice Through Music Director Brett Kimberlin.

Michael White Quintet will receive year-long promotion, airplay initiatives, marketing, and distribution opportunities that place us in front of millions of music fans & industry decision makers around the world. Moreover, IMA is in the early stages of planning a live awards ceremony and subsequent IMA showcases in New York in Spring 2007.

Music industry pros that were not part of this year's judging panel and you can cast your vote at the IMA site. Winners of this "Vox Populi" poll will be announced January 17, 2007.

03 - LP Reissue

We are So excited to announce that one of Michael White's master piece LPs, "The Land of Spirit and Light"-impulse!- will be reissued by the Verve Music Group on 09/27/05. The LPR=LP Reproduction category, means the original artwork and liner notes will be exactly produced into the CD formats. Michael White said that the spirit and essence of music in " The Land of Spirit and Light " led to the most recent CD "Voices". The Timeless, Ageless, Borderless Cosmic Groove. Salute!

There's much radiant warmth and intelligence on display on this cd, with outstanding playing, particularly from Michael White and Tim Young, throughout. Some of my favorite things (so far) - 'Circumambulation'; the parts of 'Serenade' with the violin uncannily doubling Leisei Chen's voice, 'Mechanical Man'... Unlike many recordings, the louder you turn it up, the better and clearer it sounds! Very enjoyable, I'm glad I found out about Michael White, and 'Voices'.
